Aaron May to Speak at 2018 National Planning Conference in New Orleans

On Saturday, April 21st, SOM Associate Director Aaron May will lead a panel discussion on transportation and the autonomous vehicle during the American Planning Association’s 2018 National Planning Conference in New Orleans.

The panel, titled “What Color is Your Horse?” will focus on questions raised by the emergence of autonomous vehicles and their impact on urban planning, public spaces, and changing rights of way, while also reflecting on the consequences of past transportation innovations.

It will feature experts in the fields of transit planning, economics, development, design, history, and vehicle technology. Joining May will be John Skach of the Douglas C. Allen Institute for the Study of Cities; Joseph T. Iacobucci of Sam Schwartz Engineering; Mark De La Vergne, Chief of Mobility Innovation in Detroit; Eric Rothman, President of HR&A Advisors Inc.; and Meghan L. Merritt, Executive Director for Mobility Projects at RideScout.
