Chris Cooper to Speak on Panel for AIA NY Global Dialogues Series

On Wednesday, October 4th, the New York chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA NY) will host a panel discussion titled “Displacements_Capital.” The event, part of the Global Dialogues Continuing Education Series?, centers on the transformation of residential design in New York City.

SOM Director Chris Cooper? and other panelists will discuss the rapid growth of the real estate sector in New York and explore how experimental design has redefined the identity of residential high-rise architecture.?? Panelists will share insight on the international significance of New York City? residential design, as well as on related local issues of economic equity and the effect these building designs will have on the long-term growth and health of the city.

In addition to Cooper, the panelists are: Bertram Beissel, Partner at Ateliers Jean Nouvel; ?Soo Chan Khian, Founder of SCDA Architects; Douglas Hacking, Partner at KPF; Satoshi Toyoda?, Partner at Rafael Viñ?oly Architects; and Neil Thelen, Founder of the Thelen Design Group.
