On Tuesday, October 3rd, SOM Structural Engineering Associate Directors Peter L. Lee and Neville Mathias will participate in a retirement symposium and celebration honoring the career of Professor Anil K. Chopra. The event will take place at the University of California, Berkeley. In 2015, Professor Chopra retired after 46 years of service on the faculty of U.C. Berkeley.
Lee and Mathias, alumni of U.C. Berkeley, represent a vast pool of graduates who recognize the university and its structural faculty as influencing their professional development and success. In a presentation titled “The Role of Structural Engineering Education: Two Practitioner Perspectives,” Lee and Mathias will reflect on lessons they learned at the university, and how instruction and guidance from Chopra and other professors have influenced their careers and professional portfolios.
