Former SOM Partner Robert Turner was honored by his alma mater, Virginia Tech, with the University Distinguished Achievement Award for 2014. The award was bestowed at University Commencement earlier this month.
An influential force within SOM, Turner began his career in the firm’s Chicago office in 1974, rising to Partner before he moved to London to help establish the office there. Among the projects Turner led in that office were Canary Wharf and the renovation of The Economist Building. Turner retired from SOM in 1997.
