Two SOM Projects in Museum of the City of New York Exhibition

Opening on Friday, November 18th, "New York at Its Core," a new exhibition at the Museum of the City of New York, will offer a sweeping survey of New York City’s history and future. This will be achieved through "stories of innovation, energy, struggle, and the vision of generations of immigrants, politicians, tycoons, dreamers, master builders, and ordinary New Yorkers."

The exhibition is divided into three galleries: Port City, 1609-1898; World City, 1898-2012; and Future City Lab, 2012 – present and future. The Port City gallery will feature an interactive installation that includes images of SOM's One Chase Manhattan Plaza. In the Future City Lab component, SOM's design for Moynihan Train Hall will feature in the "Getting Around" section, which explores ways to improve transit access across the Hudson River.
