SOM has been recognized in The Big 5 Construction Impact Awards, with a total of four finalist selections. Associate Director Mina Hasman, architect Sukriye Robinson, and the firm as a whole were all recognized for excellence in sustainability. The Tatu City Central Business District (CBD), a master plan for a new neighborhood in Kenya, was honored for its future community impact.

Hasman was named a finalist for the Sustainability Leader of the Year, and Robinson was selected as a finalist for Sustainability Champion of the Year. SOM is a finalist for Sustainable Initiative of the Year.

The Tatu City CBD master plan was selected as one of three finalists in the Community of the Future category. The project forms the vibrant core of the wider, 2000-hectare Tatu City Master Plan, which is anchored by a 160-hectare Central Business District inspired by the urban life of Nairobi, and its dynamic mix of living, working and leisure.

Winners will be announced at ceremony at The Big 5 conference on Sunday, September 12 at the Dubai World Trade Centre in Dubai.
