SOM Senior Digital Design Manager Robert Yori and SOM Senior Digital Design Professional Jason Chen will lead workshops at the third annual Revit Technology Conference Europe. Taking place in Budapest from October 29 to 31, 2015, the event brings together industry experts to share insights on using Revit and related Building Information Modeling (BIM) software applications to drive innovation in building design and construction.

Robert Yori’s class, entitled “Is ‘Quick and Dirty’ Really So Bad?”, will consider the upside of taking shortcuts to meet design deadlines. The session will assess the balance that must be struck between computational perfection and deliverable requirements, with a focus on how to develop strategies to align BIM efforts with broader project goals.

Jason Chen will lead the hands-on workshop “Family Matters” on how to build families in Revit that add value to BIM, particularly for geometrically complex designs. His class will consider how to streamline project solutions using Adaptive Components, and how to apply these components beyond their recognized use in creating curtain walls.
