SOM to Lead Two Events at ULI Asia Pacific Summit

SOM will lead two events in Urban Land Institute's 2021 Asia Pacific Summit.

On Monday, May 24, Design Partner Mustafa Abadan and Associate Directors Vram Malek and Nicolas Medrano will lead a virtual tour of Otemachi-One, one of the largest mixed-use developments in Tokyo's Otemachi district, located just across the Imperial Palace East Gardens. Joining the SOM project team as tour guides will be Kain Matsumoto, Operating Officer of the Corporate Development Business Unit at Mitsui & Co. Ltd; Masata Tainaka, General Manager of the Office Building Development Department at Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd.; Tomoyuki Ashida, Principal at Nikken Sekkei Ltd.; Masato Tanaami, Managing Executive Officer & Deputy General Manager of the Architectural Design Division at Kajima Corporation; and Hiroto Kobayashi, Principal at Kobayashi Maki Design Workshop.

On Tuesday, May 25, Malek, Medrano, and Director Olin McKenzie will speak on a panel about the correlation between wellness and sustainability. The panel, titled "Turbo Presentation: A New Humanist Architecture," will examine the ways design and urban planning can adapt to create a healthier and more symbiotic relationship between humans and the natural world.

The virtual events are open to all Asia Pacific Summit attendees.
