SOM to Host Panel on The Future of Transportation

On Thursday, February 27th, SOM will host a panel discussion on the future of transportation in the Bay Area and what can be learned from cities around the world. The topic is inspired by the release of The Future of Transportationour third volume in the SOM Thinkers series.

The event will bring together several leading voices to discuss bold and challenging ideas in the realm of transportation. Peter Kindel, Director of Urban Design and Planning at SOM, will introduce the panelists: Laura Bliss, CityLab‘s West Coast bureau chief and The Future of Transportation contributor; Tiffany Chu, CEO and co-founder of Remix, a platform created to help cities plan their transportation networks; Henry Grabar, staff writer at Slate and The Future of Transportation editor; Christine Moon, president of autonomous vehicle and urban mobility company BlueSpace.ai; and Caroline Samponaro, head of micromobility policy, Lyft.

Originating from a desire for public conversation about the built environment, the SOM Thinkers series poses provocative questions and speculations about architecture from perspectives outside its professional culture.
