SOM has been included on Engineering News-Record California (ENR)’s 2018 Top Design Firms list. The annual list ranks the largest U.S. design firms with offices in California, based on revenue for services including architecture, interior design, and structural engineering. SOM has been ranked 30th overall out of 95 firms on the 2018 list, based on projects out of its San Francisco and Los Angeles offices.
The projects that contributed to SOM’s ranking include work on university campuses (UC Santa Barbara and UC Merced), civic buildings (Superior Court of California, San Diego), hospitality projects (Sunset La Cienega – The Jeremy Hotel & Residences), and adaptive-reuse workplace design (Pen Factory, Awesomeness, and 777 Aviation Renovation).
