SOM Projects Featured in A+U’s San Francisco-Focused Issue

Several SOM-designed projects are featured in the April 2018 issue of A+U, a monthly English/Japanese language magazine about architecture and urbanism. The 212-page volume focuses on “San Francisco Urban Transformations.” Along with a selection of SOM’s designs, the issue includes written contributions from SOM architects and planners.

For the special issue, SOM Senior Consulting Design Partner Craig W. Hartman wrote the introduction and contributed to a roundtable article titled “San Francisco’s Speculative Future.” Design Partner Leo Chow contributed to an article titled “Waterfront – Large-Scale Plans and the Future City.” Director of Urban Design and Planning Ellen Lou contributed to an article about the city’s Transit Center District.

Featured projects include: the Transit Center District; 350 Mission Street; Moscone Center Expansion and Improvement; The Strand, American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.); Treasure Island Master Plan; India Basin; and the Parkmerced Vision Plan.
