SOM Participates in 2020 ACADIA Conference

On October 28th, SOM will participate in the 2020 ACADIA Virtual Conference, presenting a collaborative paper between Princeton University, Form Finding Lab, and SOM titled “From Concept to Construction: A Transferable Design and Robotic Fabrication Method for a Building-Scale Vault.” The paper was authored by Isla Xi Han, Edvard P.G. Bruun, Sigrid Adriaenssens, and Stefana Parascho from Princeton University, and Stuart Marsh and Matteo Tavano from SOM.

The ACADIA conference, hosted by the Association for Computer Aided Design in Architecture, is an annual conference exploring technology in architecture. This year’s event will be entirely virtual due to the pandemic and will take place from October 26-30, 2020.

The theme of the conference is “Distributed Proximities,” with presentations focused on projects that demonstrate the resilience and ingenuity of the computational design community in the face of crisis.
