SOM Announces Expansion and Relocation of Hong Kong Office

Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP (SOM) and SOM Asia Ltd are pleased to announce the expansion and relocation of its Hong Kong office to better serve its clients and collaborators throughout the region. Peter J. Kindel, SOM Director of Urban Design and Planning, and Silas Chiow, Director of SOM China — highly accomplished and award-winning leaders at SOM — have both joined SOM Associate Ame Engelhart, an architect and urban designer based in Hong Kong for 21 years, who will continue to lead the firm’s development efforts across southern Asia.

Kindel, a licensed architect, urban designer, and landscape architect from SOM’s Chicago office, brings 22 years of experience in world-class urban design and planning.

Chiow, a licensed architect, urban planner, and project manager, is a 20-year veteran of both Hong Kong and China. He will continue to lead client relations and business intelligence efforts for mainland China.
