Join Design Partner Scott Duncan and Consulting Partners Brian Lee and Bill Baker for the Skyscraper Museum's lecture series on the design, engineering and construction of supertalls around the world.
On February 2, Duncan is presenting Guiyang WTC Landmark Tower: “Precious Sun,” A Story of Trade Routes and Supertalls. Guiyang World Trade Center will anchor a new district of Guiyang, a city emblematic of China’s stratospheric growth and pivotal in its network of global trade. He will describe how such districts are shaped and how the supertall under construction at its core is advancing new ideas about structure and environmental performance.
On February 16, Lee is presenting on Tianjin CTF Finance Centre. The design for the Tianjin CTF uses undulating curves to subtly express three programmatic elements while presenting a bold, monolithic expression on the skyline. The 530-meter-tall skyscraper houses offices, 300 service apartments, and a five-star, 350-room hotel.
On March 16, Baker is presenting Burj Khalifa: What We Learned. Soaring 828 meters above the metropolis of Dubai, the Burj Khalifa is the world’s tallest building. The design for the 162-story tower combines local cultural influences with cutting-edge technology to achieve high performance in an extreme desert climate.
