The Kathleen Grimm School for Leadership and Sustainability at Sandy Ground has won a 2016 Committee on the Environment (COTE) Honor Award. Established in 2014 by AIA New York, the program recognizes results-oriented achievements in sustainable design.
Fast Company's Co.Design includes the Kathleen Grimm School for Leadership and Sustainability at Sandy Ground on their top 10 list of buildings that feature solar architecture. The project's photovoltaic panels produce 662,500 kilowatt hours of energy to offset the energy consumption of the building and its users.
Architectural Record features the Kathleen Grimm School for Leadership and Sustainability at Sandy Ground in its January issue. Located in Staten Island, New York, the school achieves its net zero energy target by harvesting as much energy from renewable onsite resources as it uses on an annual basis.
