Peter J. Kindel, SOM Director of Urban Design and Planning, will speak at the Integrated Waterfront Developments conference in Hong Kong, which takes place from March 25 – 27, 2015. There, he will present SOM’s groundbreaking vision plan for the Kingdom of Bahrain’s shorelines, offshore fishing grounds, and urban waterfronts. The firm was the lead urban design and planning consultant for Bahrain’s National Plan in 2006.
On March 25, Kindel will discuss SOM’s research, conceptual development, and recommended plans for Bahrain’s coastal zones and urban waterfronts. He will also provide an overview of Bahrain Bay — a large-scale waterfront project designed by SOM and under construction in the master plan area — to illustrate how the implementation of core projects can strengthen the key concepts of a larger master plan vision.
