On Thursday, September 13th, SOM Associate Mina Hasman will deliver a keynote speech at the Sustainable Design of the Built Environment conference in London. Hasman leads the sustainability group in SOM’s London office and was recently appointed to the RIBA Commission on Ethics and Sustainable Development.
The conference centers on sustainability in architecture, urban design, and planning, and building energy performance. Presenters and attendees will discuss strategies for sustainable design in theory and practice. Referring to the importance of the matters that will be discussed at the conference, Hasman said, "Given rapidly emerging global issues, it is imperative that we act now and embrace even more progressive and innovative design strategies to deliver solutions for a prosperous future. Innovation lies at the heart of research and practice in unison, where systematically investigated environmental, social and economic theories of sustainable design can go on to be proven in tested, real-life scenarios.”
