In September and November of 2020, SOM Associate Mina Hasman will present at 2030 Climate Challenge: The Ultimate Toolkit for Architects. The multi-day training series is hosted by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and The Green Register. Hasman and other sustainability experts will lead courses and workshops designed to help architects achieve the 10-year goals established for each of four target areas—operational energy use, embodied carbon, potable water, and health and wellbeing—in RIBA's 2030 Climate Challenge.

In "Designing for the Next Decade," Hasman, a member of the RIBA Expert Advisory Group for Sustainable Futures, will discuss details of the RIBA Challenge and the imperative to reach net-zero (or better) whole life carbon targets for new and retrofitted buildings by 2030. The virtual training series will take place over two sessions in September, and two sessions in November. Details about the November sessions will be published at a later date.
