SOM Associate Mina Hasman has been appointed to the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Commission on Ethics and Sustainable Development. The new commission was formed to find ways the industry can design for the public good with sustainable practices. It will base its work on the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals.
Hasman's first task is to collaborate with commission chair Peter Oborn to ensure the group effectively draws insights from a broad cross-section of international stakeholders.
"This is a fantastic opportunity to put ethics and sustainability at the very heart of RIBA's activity," Hasman said. "To ensure that thinking around ethics and sustainability is truly representative of the profession as a whole, we will be actively engaging with RIBA international chapters, members, and accredited schools as well as other international bodies and community groups."
