Mexican Sustainable Building Institute Honors BBVA Bancomer Operations Center

BBVA Bancomer Operations Center has been selected to receive a 2016 Premio Nacional from the Instituto Mexicano del Edificio Inteligente y Sustentable (Mexican Institute of Intelligent and Sustainable Building). Established in 1994, the award honors buildings that demonstrate the highest standards of environmentally sensitive design. BBVA Bancomer Operations Center is recognized in the Corporate Office Buildings category. The award will be presented on Monday, November 28th, at the Alcázar del Castillo de Chapultepec, in Mexico City.

Rising 130 meters, the 154,000-square-meter BBVA Bancomer Operations Center raises the bar for new commercial projects in Mexico’s capital and elevates the profile of BBVA Bancomer in Latin America. The project contributes to the revitalization of Parques Polanco, a formerly industrial district, by providing a key commercial anchor to the neighborhood’s mixed-use master plan.

Targeting LEED® Silver certification, the building optimizes building efficiency and promotes a healthy interior environment. With a host of energy- and water-saving features, the operations center exemplifies BBVA’s responsible corporate citizenship by supporting Mexico City’s efforts to curb energy consumption and air pollution.
