SOM Director Marla Gayle has been named to City & State NY’s 2021 Above and Beyond list. City & State NY – a multimedia political news organization based in New York City – gives this honor to women who “have exhibited exemplary leadership in their fields, and who have made important contributions to society in the sectors of business, public service, media, nonprofit, and organized labor.”
On Wednesday, March 31st, Gayle and the other honorees will be celebrated with a webinar hosted by City & State NY. The event will feature remarks from leaders in the political and civic realms, as well as a forum with female mayoral candidates Kathryn Garcia, Maya Wiley, and Dianne Morales.
Gayle has extensive experience and expertise in the programming, planning, and management of large-scale transportation and infrastructure projects, from airports and ferry terminals to light and heavy rail systems. Most recently, she managed the monumental transformation of the James A. Farley Post Office into Moynihan Train Hall, which opened on January 1st, 2021.
Along with her co-honorees, Gayle is profiled in a special edition of City & State Magazine. Read the piece here.
