Kenneth A. Lewis Speaks on Climate Mobilization Act Panel

On Thursday, January 30th, Managing Partner Kenneth A. Lewis will speak on a panel discussion about the Climate Mobilization Act. Passed in 2019 by the New York City Council, the legislation includes a requirement that buildings measuring 25,000 square feet or larger reduce carbon emissions by 40% before or by 2030, and by 80% before or by 2050.

Panelists will discuss how owners and developers throughout the city can best prepare for meeting those targets. Discussion topics will include Climate Mobilization Act requirements, low-carbon HVAC technologies, developer approaches for compliance, and added-values for low-carbon buildings.

Lewis will be joined on the panel by Kelly Dougherty, Vice President at FirstService Energy; Marc Kotler, Senior Vice President, New Development Group at FirstService Residential; Scott Walsh, Senior Development Manager at Lendlease; Marc Zulaga, CEO at Steven Winter Associates; and Elizabeth Kelly, Senior Policy Advisor at the Mayor’s Office of Sustainability. The event, hosted by FirstService Residential, is by invitation only.
