On June 1, 2019, Urban Design Practice Leader Keith P. O'Connor and Associate Director Jon Cicconi will speak at a Future of Design NYC panel discussion. Titled "New Civic Spaces," the panel will focus on case studies in civic architecture. O'Connor will moderate the panel, while Cicconi will discuss SOM's Moynihan Train Hall, sharing insight on how this new public space was created from an existing underutilized asset.
With the theme of "For the People," this year's Future of Design NYC Symposium features conversations about the role that architecture and engineering professionals play in today's social, political, economic, and environmental climate. Programming will also focus on assuring equity and sustainability within these industries.
