On Saturday, October 22nd, SOM Senior Digital Design Professional Jason Chen will give a presentation at the Revit Technology Conference Europe. Taking place this year in Porto, Portugal, the event brings together industry experts to share insights on using Revit and related Building Information Modeling (BIM) software applications to drive innovation in building design and construction.
In his presentation, titled “Families Matter,” Chen will focus on how families in Revit are built and used, which has a major effect on BIM’s ability to produce outputs such as drawings or schedules for cost estimating. Chen will speak about all aspects of building families and how they add value to the BIM, particularly for geometrically complex designs. His talk will consider how adaptive components can be built with consideration for design, documentation, visualization, and cost estimating.?
