Before the green roof was applied to everything from boarding schools to fast food restaurants, and the modern class of flora-covered skyscrapers started to rise, there was the Weyerhaeuser campus in Federal Way, Washington. … According to the Puget Sound Business Journal, Weyerhaeuser will be selling off the space—which was recognized by the AIA in 1972 and later in 2001 as a “milestone project”—when it moves into its new HQ in Seattle’s Pioneer Square.
