SOM Design Director Eric Keune has been named as a juror for the 2018 Modernism in America Awards. Organized by Docomomo US, the awards program celebrates the documentation, preservation and reuse of modern buildings, structures, and landscapes in the United States and U.S. territories. Now in its fifth year, the program recognizes the individuals and organizations who work to maintain, restore, and advocate for the aesthetic and cultural value of Modernist buildings and sites.
The jury will be chaired by Aaron Betsky, President of the School of Architecture at Taliesin. Betsky and Keune will be joined by Lizabeth Cohen, Dean of the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard University and the Howard Mumford Jones Professor of American Studies in the university's Department of History; Susan M. Rademacher, Parks Curator for the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy; Theodore Prudon, Docomomo US President; and Meredith Bzdak, Docomomo US Director.
