On Wednesday, May 5th, Ellen Lou, Director of Urban Design and Planning will be speaking at the 'Overcoming Inequalities Uncovered During the Pandemic' session for the American Planning Association National Conference 2021.
Joined by a panel of speakers, Lou will be discussing how the pandemic exposed many structural inequities present in many cities and their responses. The session explores how the COVID response played out in vulnerable communities, including Norfolk, Virginia, and the San Francisco Bay Area, and how a variety of programs addressed the urgent needs of underserved communities for affordable housing, childcare, and education for essential worker families, healthcare access, and more.
