On Sunday, April 28th, Dmitri Jajich, Director of Structural Engineering, will speak at the launch event of the Arabic edition of Skyscrapers, a best-selling book by author and structural historian Judith Dupré. The event will include a presentation by Dupré titled “Engaging the Urban Imagination” followed by a panel discussion with Jajich and Dupré. Ahmed Bin Shabib, founder of Brownbook magazine, will moderate the panel.
Skyscrapers, published first in 1996 and updated in 2008 and 2013, features 70 landmark skyscrapers, including Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, One World Trade Center, and other SOM-designed skyscrapers. The book launch, which will take place at Burj Khalifa, is organized by the Armani Hotel, Burj Khalifa, the Department of Culture and Tourism-Abu Dhabi, and Emaar Properties.
