Dawveed Scully Wins 2018 ULI Chicago Young Visionary Award

The Urban Land Institute (ULI) in Chicago has named SOM senior urban designer Dawveed Scully as the winner of the 2018 Young Visionary Award. The award is presented each year to an outstanding young professional who has demonstrated a commitment to ULI’s principles of responsible land use. It recognizes outstanding leaders for their career accomplishments and service to the community.

Trained as an architect and urbanist, Dawveed Scully is passionate about design as a tool for empowerment, engagement, and equity. His contributions to recent projects such as the Detroit East Riverfront and the Woodlawn Neighborhood Framework Plan support core objectives such as responsible economic development, thoughtful community reinvigoration, and urban planning literacy in historically underserved neighborhoods. As a visionary for the next generation of urban planners, Scully advocates for new methods to engage and empower communities through impactful solutions.
