Brightline has won a merit award in the AIANY + ASLANY Transportation and Infrastructure Design Excellence Awards. The program recognizes infrastructural projects that exemplify a commitment to sustainability, community engagement, and civic architecture. Brightline is the only project that won in the planning category.
Characterized by AIANY as "an exceptional case study in fearlessly pushing limits," Brightline is the only privately owned, operated, and maintained project of its kind being developed in the United States today. The 235-mile network of rail lines connects South Florida to Central Florida by operating on the existing Florida East Coast (FEC) corridor and creating new tracks to Orlando. The unprecedented infrastructure project provides a vital new service for Florida residents, business people, and visitors, and eliminates millions of car trips from the region’s roadways each year.
