Brant E. Coletta
AIA, Managing Partner
Brant E. Coletta is a managing partner with SOM's New York office. He joined the Washington, D.C., office of SOM as a designer in 1997 before transferring to the New York office as a project manager. During his time at SOM, Coletta has overseen the planning and design of a wide range of project types, including large-scale master plans, mixed-use and commercial office buildings, residential condominiums, hospitality developments, retail developments, and financial trading floors. He has completed projects throughout the United States, China, South Korea, and Kazakhstan, along with Europe and Central and South America.
Coletta continually strives to maintain SOM’s long-standing tradition of sustainable design in architecture and planning. He believes that today’s successful designers must be increasingly aware of each development’s unique sociological, environmental, and economic responsibilities. Fully understanding these roles ultimately reveals vast design opportunities available to the designer, developer, and client to increase a project’s true value regardless of the ever-changing rating systems and evolving popular trends.
Coletta is currently managing several notable projects in China, South Korea, and New York City. China projects include Longgang Tian’an Cyber Park in Shenzhen, the Chongqing Tian'An Ludao New District Concept Master Plan in Bishan, and the Feidi Next C Master Plan near Tianjin. In Korea he is working on the Busan Lotte Town Tower, a landmark supertall building, and the Diagonal Tower, part of the Yongsan International Business District. Among his current Manhattan projects is the new Baccarat Hotel & Residences. He also recently oversaw the completion of the 101 Warren Street condominium complex and the master planning of five city blocks of former industrial power plant sites adjacent to the United Nations Headquarters.
