C.H. Robinson Midwest Headquarters

1515 West Webster Avenue is the first development planned for the former site of the historic Finkl steel mill. It is located at the edge of Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood, where the North Branch of the Chicago River meets one of the city’s vital east-west corridors. 1515 West Webster will house the Midwest headquarters of transportation logistics company C.H. Robinson, bringing more than 1,000 employees to the area by early 2019.

The design for 1515 West Webster accommodates open, flexible workspaces across four stories. A central atrium spans the height of the building, infusing the interiors with daylight, while a two-story staircase leads to a seating area that provides a casual gathering space for staff. Targeting LEED® Gold certification, 1515 West Webster incorporates low-cost, high-efficiency materials to achieve significant improvements in performance. The building is clad in heat-reducing glass, and its facade is defined by undulating fins designed to mitigate solar gain, reduce glare in workspaces, and increase daylight in communal areas.

By revitalizing a long vacant site, 1515 West Webster Avenue continues the city’s rediscovery and reinvigoration of the Chicago River. Wetlands and natural vegetation will be restored throughout the site, and a new public path at the corner of Dominick Street and Webster Avenue will create direct access to the Chicago Riverwalk. Located at the intersection of numerous transit and bicycle routes, the building also includes above- and below-grade parking.
