As we start the new year, it seems only fitting to look ahead at some of the Bay Area projects wrapping up in 2018. In true yearbook fashion, we’ve given them nicknames based on each project’s unique characteristics.

MOSCONE CENTER EXPANSION: Biggest Economic Ripple effect

This project is expected to have the biggest economic ripple effect over the next decade, at least. The four-year, four-phase overhaul will increase the center’s amount of convention center space by 21 percent – from 1.2 million to 1.5 million square feet. Once completed, the center will include more than 80 flexible meeting rooms, a 50,000-square-foot grand ballroom, enlarged lobby spaces, more than 500,000 square feet of contiguous exhibition space and outdoor terraces...
