On Friday, October 14th, SOM Structural and Civil Engineering Partners William F. Baker and Mark Sarkisian will deliver a lecture at the Aarhus School of Architecture in Denmark. Coinciding with the opening of "Sky's the Limit: The Engineering of Architecture" in nearby Aalborg, the lecture will shed light on SOM's integrated structural engineering practice. Informed by SOM's 80-year history of structural engineering, Baker and Sarkisian will discuss the firm's design philosophies, current projects, and emerging ideas within technical design.
Global leaders in structural design, Baker and Sarkisian have realized some of the most complex projects in the built environment, including the Burj Khalifa, currently the world's tallest man-made structure, and the New United States Courthouse, which opened this year in Los Angeles.
One of Denmark's leading architectural universities, the Aarhus School of Architecture is a preeminent institution in Scandinavia.
