University-oriented Development Growing in Midtown

Some of Georgia’s most prestigious universities are creating big footprints in one of the state’s busiest hubs of technological and corporate activities.

. . .

Emory’s 17-story, 455,000- square-foot Winship at Midtown is the largest university-related investment. The cancer treatment center is under construction in the south end of the district and is slated to open in fall 2022.

. . .

“Winship at Midtown will enable more cancer patients to be treated in the Midtown area,” said Dr. Jonathan Lewin, chief executive officer at Emory Healthcare and executive vice president for health affairs at Emory University.

The new facility, he added, will “expand Winship’s cancer research in order to advance its mission of lessening the burden of cancer in Georgia.”
