The Most Sustainable School

New York City has become considerably greener and more energy efficient, thanks to the “Kathleen Grimm School for Leadership and Sustainability at Sandy Ground,” a community for pre-kindergarten through fifth-grade students on Staten Island. Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, the 6,318 square meter / 68,000-square foot oeuvre is the first net zero energy project of its type in the five boroughs and one of the first worldwide.
