On Saturday, October 15th, SOM will participate in Open House Chicago, an annual citywide event hosted by the Chicago Architecture Foundation (CAF). SOM staff will be on hand to lead guided visits of the Chicago office, including explorations of recent work, discussions on the firm’s design ethos, and tours of the model gallery and 3D model of Chicago.
One of 200 locations participating in the event, SOM’s Chicago office is located in the Railway Exchange Building, an address formerly occupied by the practice of iconic Chicago architect Daniel Burnham. With a portfolio that includes more than 70 buildings throughout the city, SOM is celebrating 25 years on Michigan Avenue and 80 years in Chicago.
In 2015, Open House Chicago brought more than 1,800 visitors to SOM’s office. The event has been led by CAF since 2011.
