On Tuesday, May 23rd, SOM Technical Director Lucas Tryggestad, Associate Director Yue Zhu, and Mechanical Engineer Stephen Ray will speak at the 2017 Facade Tectonics Forum at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. The forum gathers experts from the facade industry to present innovations in facade design and performance, and discuss challenges and potential solutions in the field.
This is the first time the event will take place in Chicago. Participants will discuss challenges presented by the city’s infamous wind, as well as topics such as building envelope and atmosphere. Tryggestad will present on digital workflows to integrate facade design and delivery. Zhu and Ray will speak about the impact of fenestration on thermal performance of the building envelope. The three speakers will be joined on their panels by experts from leading engineering and facade design firms.
