SOM Partners to Present at Tall Buildings Symposium and Chongqing University in China

In September, 2017, SOM Design Partner Leo Chow and Structural and Seismic Engineering Partner Mark Sarkisian will conduct a series of lectures in Chongqing, China.

On Thursday, September 21st, Chow and Sarkisian will present a joint lecture at the 4th US-China Tall Building Symposium. The lecture is titled "Site | Structure | Architecture – Projects that Create Change." On Saturday, September 23rd, the two will present at Chongqing University's Architectural and Urban Design College. Chow will discuss design principles and case studies for tall buildings, and Sarkisian will explore integrated design practices in China.

Following the lectures, Chow and Sarkisian will join a panel discussion on new ideas and challenges in tall building design. Joining them on the panel will be faculty from Chongqing University and various architectural design institutes. Founded in 1929, Chongqing University is a national Chinese university that ranks high for its built environment, engineering, technology, and business programs.
