On Thursday, October 19th, multiple representatives from SOM will participate in the Facades+ conference in Los Angeles. Presented this year by The Architect’s Newspaper and Vitro Architectural Glass, the event brings some of the world’s leading building professionals and researchers together to discuss current practices and innovations in facade design, fabrication, and construction.
SOM Design Director Paul Danna, Design Director Jose Luis Palacios, and Senior Designer Garth Ramsey are co-chairs for this year’s conference. Throughout the day on October 19th, they will present welcoming remarks, introduce keynote speakers and panels, and moderate Q & A sessions following panels and presentations. Danna, Palacios, and Ramsey are based in SOM’s Los Angeles office.
Additionally, SOM Technical Director Keith Boswell, who is based in our San Francisco office, will join Palacios and Ramsey in a panel titled “Designing Excellence: Los Angeles Federal Courthouse.” Boswell, Palacios, and Ramsey will discuss the SOM-designed New United States Courthouse in L.A. Paul Danna will moderate the discussion, which is scheduled from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on October 19th.
