SOM Directors Nicole Dosso and Scott Duncan will serve as jurors for the inaugural International Architecture Awards 2015 (IAA2015), organized by International Architecture Podium.
According to the awards brief, IAA2015 “aims to bring out the most creative and innovative projects in the field of architecture.” Members of the 25-person jury will evaluate projects in 36 different categories, ranging from transport terminals to corporate interiors. Built and unbuilt projects will be judged separately. The jury, composed of leading architects, academics, and other thought leaders in the design community, will convene in February 2015. Winners will be announced in March.
A Technical Director in SOM’s New York office, Nicole Dosso is a recognized expert in the technical challenges and solutions associated with the design of tall buildings in complex urban contexts. She has extensive project experience that includes work on SOM’s key projects at the World Trade Center site: 7 World Trade Center and One World Trade Center. Scott Duncan, a Design Director, also in the New York office, has extensive project experience in Southeast Asia, India, and the Middle East, as well as the United States. Notable projects include Pertamina Energy Tower in Jakarta and the recently completed Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport Terminal 2 in Mumbai.
