On January 13th, 2016, SOM Managing Partner Jonathan Stein and Associate Ame Engelhart celebrated the topping out ceremony for Tanjong Pagar Centre in Singapore.
The tallest building in Singapore, standing at 950 feet (290 meters), Tanjong Pagar Centre “will act as a catalyst in accelerating the rejuvenation and transformation of Tanjong Pagar District into a business and lifestyle hub in the CBD," said Mr Raymond Choong, President and CEO of GuocoLand, the project's development group.
Singapore’s National Development Minister Lawrence Wong, who was guest of honor at the ceremony, marked the important milestone by signing a commemorative plaque for the award-winning integrated mixed-use development.
Tanjong Pagar Centre combines 890,000 square feet of column-free office space, a 100,000 square-foot lifestyle and food and beverage component, 181 residences, 222 five-star hotel rooms as well as a 150,000 square-foot urban park. The five components come together to provide a holistic work-live-play experience that simultaneously integrates with the Tanjong Pagar MRT, one of the busiest Mass Rapid Transit stations in Singapore. Completion is scheduled for mid-2016.
