SOM Managing Director Mark Regulinski will speak at the 2015 AIA New York State Design Conference, which will take place from October 22 to 25 in Saratoga Springs, New York. This year’s conference focuses on the relationship between architecture practice and academia, and considers how creative partnerships between the two can drive design innovation.
On Saturday, October 24, Regulinski will participate in a seminar with the Center for Architecture Science and Ecology (CASE), a research center that is co-hosted by SOM and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. As a trailblazing industry-academic partnership, CASE brings together designers, scientists, and industry partners to study the next generation of net zero design.
The seminar will present the collaborative work of CASE and SOM in the design of several projects, including an emergency response center in New York City, a medical campus in Abu Dhabi, and a net zero energy school in Staten Island. The seminar will include presentations by Anna Dyson, Nancy Diniz, and Josh Draper of CASE.
