On Tuesday, June 25th, Design Partner Scott Duncan will give a keynote address at the Australian Smart Skyscraper Summit 2019. Duncan’s presentation, “Buildings that Breathe,” will look at strategies for designing sustainable tall buildings, including the “sponge” approach to natural ventilation. This method, incorporating elements like active and passive ventilation systems, exoskeletal structural systems that play a role in occupant thermal comfort, and a blurring of the interior and exterior workspaces, is already being implemented in two SOM projects: Shenzhen Rural Commercial Bank and WeBank.
The Australian Smart Skyscraper Summit 2019, held June 25 to 27 in Melbourne, will focus on “Cities in the Sky: Transforming the Broader Urban Fabric.” The conference is part of a larger Smart Skyscraper series, hosted by Expotrade Global.
