Three SOM projects—252 East 57th Street, Lexicon, and Hangzhou Wangchao Center—have been selected as finalists in the 2018 ABB Leading European Architects Forum (LEAF) Awards. The winners will be announced at an award ceremony on October 18th, 2018, in Frankfurt, Germany.
Two SOM-designed projects were named to the shortlist for the 2017 New London Awards, an annual program supported by the Mayor of London. The nominees, Lexicon and the New Covent Garden Market Master Plan, are also eligible for a People's Choice Award, to be decided by a public vote.
SOM celebrates the completion of Lexicon, a three-building residential development comprising two low-rise buildings and an all-glass, 36-story tower. The firm acted as architect for the development, which provides 307 apartments in the London Borough of Islington.
London Evening Standard's Homes & Property features 261 City Road (The Lexicon) in a roundup of properties in and around the Hoxton neighborhood. The mixed-use project features three buildings, including a striking 36-story tower that will be the area's tallest structure.
