Carrie Byles, SOM Partner, will discuss the firm's redevelopment plan for San Francisco's Parkmerced neighborhood on September 30. Her presentation will take place at the 13th Annual Leadership Summit on Sustainable Design, hosted by the Design Futures Council.
The American Institute of Architects announced this week that SOM's Parkmerced Vision Plan, a neighborhood revitalization program for the Bay Area's largest privately owned residential community, has received a 2013 National Honor Award. This award recognizes design excellence and the most outstanding achievements in the profession.
The American Institute of Architects has just announced the recipients of the distinguished Institute Honor Awards. From over 700 total submissions, SOM was awarded three of the eight winning projects in the Regional & Urban Design Category. Honors went to projects envisioned for San Francisco, the Great Lakes region, and China.
