On November 10th, 2017, Associate Director Christoph Timm will speak at the X Sisteccer Congress in Buenos Aires, Argentina, an event organized around the theme of "Towards a New Generation of Facades." In his presentation, Timm will discuss both SOM's legacy projects and recent work.
Thomas Behr, Kent Jackson, and Douglas Voigt have been elected to join SOM's Partnership, in recognition of their outstanding accomplishments and contributions to the firm. An Executive Committee Strategic Officer and seven new Directors have also been named.
At this year’s annual Society for College and University Planning (SCUP) International Conference, Roger Duffy, SOM Design Partner, and Chris McCready, SOM Managing Director, will present the University Center at The New School. The session will explore how SOM’s design for the vertical campus center realizes the university’s goals of unity, interconnectivity, and openness.
On May 21, Christopher McCready, SOM Managing Director, will participate in a discussion on net-zero energy educational buildings in New York City. The event will spotlight SOM’s P.S. 62, the first net-zero energy school in the Northeastern United States.
P.S. 62 Richmond, the first net zero energy school in New York State, broke ground today. Designed by SOM, the new school will be ready for use by fall 2015.
P.S. 62 in Richmond, Staten Island, will be the subject of a case study and panel discussion co-hosted by the Urban Green Council and the American Institute of Architects's New York chapter Committee on the Environment.
