U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker today presented SOM with the President’s “E” Award for Exports at a ceremony in Washington, D.C. The “E” Awards are the highest recognition any U.S. entity may receive for making a significant contribution to the expansion of U.S. exports.
The SOM-designed Nanhu New Country Village Master Plan has won a Merit Award from the American Planning Association, California Chapter, Northern Section. The project was recognized in the "Innovation in Green Community Planning" category.

The American Institute of Architects has just announced the recipients of the distinguished Institute Honor Awards. From over 700 total submissions, SOM was awarded three of the eight winning projects in the Regional & Urban Design Category. Honors went to projects envisioned for San Francisco, the Great Lakes region, and China.
The American Institute of Architects announced today that the Nanhu Country Village Master Plan, a model for future development in rural China designed by SOM and a consultant team, has received a 2013 National Honor Award. This award recognizes the most outstanding achievements in the profession.
