SOM has won three Honor Awards, including the top accolade of the year, from the AIA Illinois chapter. Two projects received awards—the Great Lakes Vision Plan and the University of North Carolina Genome Science Lab—while SOM Partner Philip Enquist received the prestigious R. Buckminster Fuller Award.

Jaime Velez, SOM Director of Interior Design, has won awards for "Best of Contract Design" and "Best of Product Design" from the American Society of Interior Designers Illinois Chapter. He was honored during a gala at the Art Institute of Chicago.
