Manhattan Loft Gardens, New Futura, the Cornell Tech Campus Framework Plan, and Moynihan Train Hall were shortlisted across six categories in the 2019 ABB LEAF Awards. The international award program, now in its 18th year, recognizes design excellence in projects around the world.

On March 8th, 2019, SOM Associate Directors Jon Cicconi and Frank Mahan will lead a hard hat construction tour of Moynihan Train Hall for the AIANY Historic Buildings Committee. The two will share insight on SOM's design to convert the 1913 James A. Farley Post Office into a 21st-century train station.
SOM Associate Director Frank Mahan was selected as a recipient of the 2019 Young Architects Award by the American Institute of Architects. The annual award program honors young leaders who have made significant contributions to the field of architecture early in their careers.
Commercial Observer has selected SOM Director Marla Gayle as a recipient of the 2018 Barrier Breaker Award. Gayle and other award winners were honored at the second annual Women in Real Estate, Design and Construction Forum at the CUNY Graduate Center on November 15th, 2018.
Metropolis Magazine highlights SOM's design to convert the James A. Farley Post Office into Moynihan Train Hall, a 21st-century train station. Located in New York City, the project is a critical part of the redevelopment of the entire Penn Station complex and is anticipated to open in 2020.
